Hi All,

After a 30+ year career in sales, my wife and I moved to Cape Cod in 1993 to be closer to the ocean and to enjoy the laid-back lifestyle it provides. Somewhere along the way, I renewed my interest in photography and these galleries are the results.

Cape Cod throughout the Seasons : The beauty of Cape Cod doesn't end when Labor Day arrives and the summer visitors go back home to resume their daily lives. The beauty of Cape Cod is still here it just takes on a different look, feel and tone. The pace is more measured and the roads are easier to navigate. The startling Fall colors are left to be enjoyed by the residents and the 'seasoned' visitors who have been here before and know just how beautiful Cape Cod can be. Throughout the Winter and into Spring there is lots to see and enjoy and best of all, we have it all to ourselves. The following are some of my favorite photographs taken in the offseason. Isolation as an art form : I've always preferred photographing a single flower or bloom. Reason being, it allows us to examine the intricacies and patterns that each flower exhibits. Like snowflakes, no two flowers are exactly alike and even though there may be a sea of blooms in front of you, isolating a flower allows you the ability to appreciate the individual beauty of each. Recently. I've taken the idea of isolating one step further by taking along a foam core board whenever I take photos of flowers. The board is black on one side and white on the other. Wether I use the black or the white side simply depends on the color of the flower as well as my mood at the time. The purpose of the board is to "isolate" the subject outdoors, in it's natural habitat and take the photo without cutting the plant-or in any way altering it. The board is placed behind the plant, and the photo is taken. This gallery is a work in progress and additional images will be added as I get inspired. Thank you for looking Zig

Tools of the Trade : This gallery consists of images of saltwater streamers that I tie and use to flyfish for gamefish in the Florida Keys or my home waters of Cape Cod. I've been flyfishing in saltwater since 1973, a time when people looked at you a little strange if they saw you fly fishing in the surf along any of the waters of the Cape. Today, it's quite a different matter. I've digitally modified some of the images to give them an artistic character. Anyways, I hope you enjoy looking at the photos as well as the streamers. Please note that some of these photos are available on 5 x 7 note cards. They can be seen in my "Distinctive Note Card" gallery.

Trout Club : A collection of photographs taken at the Trout Club on various occasions. The last page features photographs of freshwater and saltwater flies that are available for purchase. The freshwater flies includes a collection of Eastern Style Streamer Flies as developed and tied by Carrie G. Stevens in 1930s and 1940s of Rangeley Lakes Maine. An original streamer fly as tied by Carrie Stevens, can be included with the matted photograph for an additional fee.
